Tuesday, Sept. 3rd is the first day for all 7th graders and new 8th graders at PHMS.
Be sure you ring paper and pencils for all classes and a POSITIVE attitude.
I would encourage ALL students to ride the bus.
Traffic may be interesting to say the least.
So excited to meet you.
See you soon!

My classroom WISHLIST for 2013 - 2014 school year.
This may seem unconventional but I am going to give it a try.
There are many consumable materials I use with my students throughout the year.
I buy most of them, but always run out. Therefore, I am asking for help.
If you are out and about and would care to give me some help.....I could use the following
items in my classroom to educate your children.
If you can manage to buy any of these items, please feel free to drop them off at PHMS with my name, Mrs. Lund, on the bag after September 3rd (1st day of school).
Thank you so much for any help you can give me.
Mrs. Lund

If you are out and about and would care to give me some help.....I could use the following
items in my classroom to educate your children.
- #2 Pencils....students go through these like water. I bought 144 last year and have zero left.
- Odorless Whiteboard markers (the BIG ones, not the thin)
- 9 styrofoam spheres.....these will be used to cut and discover the shape formed by the cut
- 18 styrofoam cones.....these are also used to cut and discover
- electric pencil sharpener....I go through one of these per year
- college ruled notebooks....I use these to give to students who can not afford them
- SCIENTIFIC CALCULATORS....I use these to loan to students who forget to bring theirs to class
If you can manage to buy any of these items, please feel free to drop them off at PHMS with my name, Mrs. Lund, on the bag after September 3rd (1st day of school).

April 22 - 26
Wow! Only 9 days of school left.
That seems UNBELIEVABLE.
7th grade: We will be doing a variety of activities this week involving probability to tie up the year. Please remind your student to stay focused. This week and next are very important to next years learning. I look forward to a great 9 days.
8th grade: We have started the CONSUMER UNIT. Woohoo! I love this unit and so will your child. They will receive jobs, possibly get married and have children. They will get a chance to discuss the many financial challenges that "real living" has in store for them. They will shop for cars, houses and groceries. They will pay for health insurance, car insurance and pay utility bills. It is so much fun and I believe your child will have fun with it as well. Please take advantage of the great conversations this unit may produce at home.
Algebra: Tomorrow (monday) students will begin taking the 2 day semester test. We will finish off the year with a Budget unit that will be fun and interesting for the students.
This will be my last entry for this school year. I hope my blog was helpful.
Thanks for all you do,
Bev Lund

Feb 25 - Mar 1
Monday: Another snow day. Wow! That storm turned out to be disappointing didn't it. I am guessing the administrators will not call off school quite so quickly next time.
As far as the rest of the week goes. . . we will be flexible.
This is simply a rough outline of what the week will entail.
7th grade: We will be having a test over area sometime soon. It would be nice to have it this friday but we will see how that goes.
8th grade: We will continue with statistics. We are done with Mean, Median, Mode and Range and will continue with different ways to organize data. This will include line plots, scatter grams and figuring a line of best fit.
Algebra: We will pick up where we left off with Chapter 10. Read lessons 10/1 and 10/2 to refresh what we have already learned.
